We’re equal parts California casual (Jen) and New York street-cool (Lisa), yin/yang’ed with operations savvy (Lisa) and marketing prowess (Jen), and well-balanced between big energy (Jen) and cool composure (Lisa). Together, we have more than 30 years of experience in the fashion industry. Jen previously founded a thriving t-shirt tee brand in the women’s contemporary market, and Lisa owns a multi-line NYC showroom in this category, as well as two retail locations selling women’s upscale casual basics.
Longtime friends, colleagues, and passionate entrepreneurs, we launched perfectwhitetee in on what we thought was the perfect debut date: National White t-shirt Day, February 11. We enjoyed one blissful day of shipping orders before, you guessed it… the pandemic lockdown kicked in. As good citizens and eternal optimists, however, we quickly found a way save the business and contribute to COVID prevention efforts. At our family-owned contemporary fabric mill in Los Angeles, we began repurposing fabrics to make masks and were thrilled to keep all our employees working. Slowly and gently, we were able to navigate our way back to manufacturing our small line.
With everyone at home in tees and sweats during the ensuing lockdown, we were perfectly positioned to deliver a new take on comfort clothing: seasonless, classic, and forever a favorite. We are proud to say that perfectwhitetee is made in the US and we’re so thankful that our product proved to be just what our customers needed at this pivotal moment in history.
Today, our little company is growing by the minute, and we are all so grateful. We’ve found so much joy in designing mindfully manufactured, high-quality products that are made to be lived in. Our love for jeans, tees, and sneakers comes through in every style we offer, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for perfectwhitetee.
